Cristine recently received her Ph.D. Candidate in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Iowa State University, and served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Polymer and Food Protection Consortium. Dr. Keith Vorst was a member of her Program of Study Committee. Her research primarily focused on characterizing the performance of hermetic storage technology. She has done work on mechanical, barrier, impact, and accelerated aging tests of plastic films. Cristine also served as Teaching Assistant for the TSM 241 (Introduction to Manufacturing Processes for Plastics) class for 2022. She was recently named a recipient of an Iowa State Research Excellence Award from the Graduate College and ISU President on May 12, 2022.
Before coming to ISU, she completed her MSc. and BSc. Degrees in Agricultural Engineering at University of the Philippines Los Baῆos. As a master’s student, she conducted research on the production of nanomaterial from agricultural waste.
