Rebecca Mort

Dr. Rebecca Mort

Position
  • Recent Ph.D. Recipient
  • Former Graduate Research Assistant
Rebecca recently received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University. She was co-advised by Dr. Shan Jiang and Dr. Keith Vorst. Her research primarily focused on developing biobased polymers as substitutes for traditional polystyrene and polyurethane foams used in packaging and cushioning applications. She has also done work on biobased adhesives and polymer composites using landfill diverted material from a Waste-to-Energy facility. Prior to coming to ISU, she completed her B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University in 2019. As an undergraduate, she conducted research on block copolymer membranes for ultrafiltration.
